Losing the Instructions. Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery. "I used to be snow white, but I drifted." Mixed media installation: black walls with white line drawings of large dwarf hats. On one wall, Edgerton’s photo of an apple, shot by a bullet. On the back wall, a mirror, inspired by Lee Friedlander’s photo, Hotel. Mirror is framed by forms sculpted from foam, covered with plaster and glitter. Sunk into the snow on the dresser top, a white television set. On a DVD loop, a close-up of me drawing and painting a dwarf’s hat on the back of my hand. Audio: soft whistling of “Whistle while you work.”
Dimensions: side walls 10’x10’, back wall, 10’x8’. 2003
